Biomedical prototyping is the process of constructing physical models of the human anatomy by fast prototyping techniques. These models are based on the patient’s computed tomography scans; thus, the prototypes are individualized and faithfully represent the anatomical structure.
The fast prototyping techniques are based on the principle of constructing a 3-D model by layers. Thus, there is no limit to the geometry to be constructed. The final result is an actual scale copy of the selected anatomical region.
